She told commissioners, “The cost of the equipment that's being, waived for us is $6,029.19,” and added that total waived costs including lift equipment came to $6,469.19, meaning the county would “have no cost incurred in upgrading the lighting in our 2 barns.” Scheduling for the installations was estimated at about six weeks due to contractor workload.
The item was placed before the board as a contract/upgrade proposal. After a motion and second, the clerk called roll and recorded ‘Yes’ votes for Clark McClary, Larry Watson and Billy Cloud; the motion passed.
The commission did not discuss alternative bids, long-term energy-savings estimates, or a timetable for completion beyond the contractor's scheduling note. The item was handled on the consent/agenda track and approved without asking for additional funding from county coffers.
