MPO staff: Northern Corridor Connection study RFP expected to post in early August

Tim (role/title not specified) told the committee that staff have been working with LPA engineers on the white paper and RFP for the Northern Corridor Connection study and that the RFP is "about ready to go live." "We are anticipating posting it around the start of August," Tim said, adding that the process would include a few weeks for a notice of intent, followed by proposal submission, scoring, consultant selection and contract signing.
Tim said the study team has kept much of the preparation internal to date, which is why the committee has not seen major deliverables so far. Once the study moves into the active phase, MPO staff plan to provide regular updates to this committee and to the public-recorded APC participation committee playlist. Tim asked committee members to direct constituent questions to that playlist or to the MPO office if they encounter misinformation.
On selection, Tim said the MPO will look for one representative each from the Area Planning Commission (APC), the City of Lafayette, the City of West Lafayette and Tippecanoe County to serve on the selection committee; he said the MPO director would provide a tiebreaking vote if needed. Staff estimated roughly six to eight weeks to receive proposals after the RFP is posted.
No formal action was taken; staff will post the RFP and begin procurement steps.
