Travis Dorey (speaker 10) recommended that future CUP approvals include an enumerated list of the specific conditions being approved rather than approving entire application packets. Dorey argued that listing conditions explicitly would make it easier for council and staff to identify and prevent proposals from bypassing safety or frontage requirements.
Separately, the council approved the consent agenda (minutes, bills list, VDOT-related resolution and a proclamation recognizing municipal clerks week), and unanimously reappointed John Overton to the Montgomery Regional Economic Development Commission for a term running from 05/12/2026 through 05/30/2029; council praised Overton's past service.
Next steps: staff said it will post budget and fee materials to the town website; council accepted the consent agenda and the appointment and will consider Dorey's CUP recommendation through staff and planning processes.
