"We got people coming in from Nebraska, Wyoming, and South Texas, you know, McAllen, Oklahoma, and St. Louis," Robin said during the presentation. The chair noted past attendance figures and hotel stays, saying the event previously had "300 participants, about 25 rooms booked," figures the board cited in deliberations.
Board members discussed promotional items and the event budget, including a $715 line for branded T‑shirts that the applicant said reflects vendor pricing. Members also considered calendar conflicts and cross‑promotion with downtown activities such as Denison’s Dia de los Muertos on Nov. 7; staff and members said coordinated signage and media outreach could boost dwell time and hotel stays.
