Board members also discussed a highway truck replacement grant that offers up to $250,000 of matching assistance; the replacement quote exceeded the grant maximum and would require town funds for the balance. Members voted to authorize staff (Jeanette) to sign the grant application so it could be submitted before the month‑end deadline, with the assurance staff would flag any concerns before signing.
On federal reimbursements, staff reported the town received $88,472.51 from FEMA but that award letters were issued for an incorrect amount and the town is owed roughly $29,500. Staff said they have contacted state FEMA to correct the award letters and recover the balance.
The meeting included routine approvals of nonpublic meeting minutes (April 13 nonpublic items) and then two nonpublic personnel sessions; the board voted to seal both nonpublic minutes. The board adjourned after sealing the minutes.
Actions and next steps: the board instructed staff to follow up with state FEMA for corrected awards; staff will submit the truck grant application if timing requires and will circulate documents to board members if anything appears unusual before signing. No additional binding intermunicipal agreements were approved at this meeting.
