County advances OnBase, courtroom scheduling and volunteer platform rollouts

Chris Mertens and Heather Bennett updated the ISSD Board on enterprise project rollouts on Jan. 13.

OnBase document management is now in production for HR, Payroll and Legal. Mertens and Bennett described the transition from POSSE to OnBase for personnel documents and plans to consolidate document management across departments, including integration with Workday.

Bennett reported the Get Connected volunteer management platform is in use by Emergency Management (EMA), Parks, and Soil & Water and includes background‑check capabilities; the team plans to expand the platform to additional departments such as the Sheriff's Office.

The board also heard about a courtroom scheduling application developed by Cultivate Geospatial. Bennett said the project team met with bailiffs and court staff for demonstrations; Mertens outlined a tentative testing and go‑live timeline targeting late first quarter to early second quarter of 2026 and noted ongoing judge and staff involvement to ensure the application meets court needs.

Conference Room 1A upgrades with new Cisco equipment are complete and received positive feedback; Commissioners’ Courtroom upgrades are postponed until after the primary election. Mertens said the county is standardizing Cisco equipment across new and existing courtrooms to enable back‑end capabilities and remote troubleshooting.

Bennett also confirmed data has been provided for the Integral Worker Management software configuration and that the rollout is expected to improve process efficiency. The minutes record no formal votes on these projects at the meeting; the board received updates and next steps.
