Osage Beach aldermen approve a package of building‑code updates on second reading

The approvals cover multiple sections of chapter 500 (building codes) and are intended to keep local technical standards current with nationally recognized model codes and state requirements. Staff said updated codes should make permitting and compliance clearer for builders and inspectors and minimize conflicts between city code and state statute.
The board handled the package as discrete bills but in a single meeting sequence; staff indicated the changes reflect periodic code modernization rather than a substantive policy change beyond the technical updates.
The board formally recorded votes and reflected affirmative votes on the record for the second readings presented that evening.
