Board approves $1M sewer change order, several resolutions and appointments

In addition to extended policy debates and public comment, the Nashua Board of Aldermen carried several procedural and fiscal items on June 9.
Sewer change order: The board approved Change Order No. 7 for the 2025 sewer replacement project (Crisp Contracting) in an amount not to exceed $1,000,000 to cover manhole construction, raising manhole covers to grade, sewer lining support and emergency repairs; funding was identified from the Admin Engineering Fund Bond/Property Services. The motion passed by unanimous roll call.
Resolutions and grant acceptance: The board adopted R-26-033 (transit services contracts) and R-26-036 (CPACER program) and declared R-26-037 adopted as amended. The board also suspended the rules to advance R-26-042, accepting $762,788 in state Department of Health and Human Services grant funds for public health and community service activities; R-26-042 passed 14–0.
Appointments and trustees: The board met in joint convention with the Edgewood Cemetery Trustees and elected two trustees (Thomas Maffei and Carl Andrade) who were sworn into office. The board confirmed Christian Jimenez to the Board of Health (term to 12/31/2027) and reappointed a Greeley Park advisory committee member to a later-swearing-in date.
Ordinances and committee actions: The board adopted O-26-007 (medical insurance opt-out stipend) and O-26-009 (flagpoles on City Hall grounds, amended) and indefinitely postponed several items (O-26-008, O-26-010, O-26-014). O-26-011 (definition of secondhand dealers) was re-referred to the Personnel & Administrative Affairs Committee after debate. Several first readings were assigned to appropriate committees (leases, bond reallocation, school roofing).
