HCAAC explores staging a holiday play and a series of low-cost community art projects

Charles DeLong presented a proposal to plan a full stage production, identifying royalties and venue rental as the primary cost drivers and suggesting family-friendly titles for a possible December run. Hepburn said permitted hydrant painting could cost as little as roughly $20 per participant for paint materials and suggested starting with local schools, including HHS.
The committee reviewed storage and Salute the Boot logistics: the Plant Swap planning team will handle April storage maintenance and inventory, Albert Goodson agreed to co-lead Salute the Boot set-up/take-down with Roy Kyle, and the committee agreed to loan boots for a memorial event at the Havelock Tourist and Event Center.
On branding, members discussed adopting a Parks & Recreation-style cultural-arts logo (a dancing flower) for HCAAC shirts and deferred final decisions on sizes and colors. Kelvin Hardesty recommended postponing a full brochure until the new combined committee completes initial logistics; Lorraine Butler will draft a basic layout poster for the Plant Swap table.
