The Bayshore Gardens Park & Recreation District Board of Trustees voted unanimously April 22 to appoint Kyle Weatherly to Seat 02 and approved a bundle of operational measures affecting pool operations, finances and facilities.
Kyle Weatherly introduced himself to the board and said he previously served on the board and is ready to return. Trustee Barbara Susdorf moved to appoint Weatherly to Seat 02 (vacant since Joyce Fisher’s term ended Dec. 31, 2025); Trustee Skip Wilhoit seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Treasurer Terry Zimmerly presented the financial report, saying several corrections remain and will be addressed at the next meeting, and noted that new income accounts have already been added to the proposed budget. Zimmerly read Resolution 2026-05 and moved its approval; the board approved the resolution unanimously.
District Office Manager Gia Cruz told trustees one of the kitchen’s GE stoves is failing (running about 30 degrees off). Trustee Keely Brown moved to scrap both aging stoves and replace them with a combined budget cap of $2,000; Trustee Terry Zimmerly seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
On pool operations, the board approved changes to the Lifeguard Handbook and a swim-class fee schedule. Chairman Cori Howell brought forward the handbook updates; Trustee Skip Wilhoit moved to approve the handbook revisions and Trustee Dan Rawlinson seconded. Rawlinson later moved to approve the swim-class fee schedule presented by Wilhoit; both motions passed unanimously.
The board also discussed parking-lot maintenance after the lot was resealed and asked staff to try adding four parking blocks (one at each corner) to address vehicle burn issues. The board instructed staff to monitor commercial activity at the fishing dock after Cruz reported apparent commercial pickups there.
The meeting concluded after routine approvals of minutes from prior meetings and the board’s unanimous adjournment at 7:37 P.M.
