The board voted 5–1–1 to approve Motion #2026‑198, a memorandum of agreement with the support staff council that eliminates the District Communication Assistant position and creates a new 12‑month Administrative Assistant for Buildings and Grounds. The board split an associated package into separate votes so member Mike Vasquez could vote on the communications role while recusing himself from matters involving his spouse; Mr. Petrungaro explained the procedural change was necessary for that purpose.
In a separate vote, the board approved Motion #2026‑199 (3–2–2) to change the Athletic Secretary position from a 12‑month assignment to a 10‑month assignment. The board also approved the 2026–2027 Administrative Salary Schedule and Confidential Employee Salary Schedule (Motion #2026‑201) on a 4–3 roll call.
Motion #2026‑212, the district personnel report for June 2026, passed 4–1–2. Before that vote Mr. Petrungaro disclosed a relationship between a candidate (Mr. Garrett) and Mr. Lettiere that triggered the district’s nepotism policy and required a two‑thirds vote; board members discussed the threshold and then approved the report.
The board was also informed that Dr. Joseph Rojek said this would be his last meeting; he has accepted a position with another district and thanked colleagues for the opportunity to serve. Additionally, President Dr. Jennifer Grenier noted the board received a letter from retiring assistant principal John Dagres.
