Council members discussed parking, materials and funding sources; staff (S8) confirmed leftover parks and recreation funds could seed the work. Committee member (S5) moved to begin the project and the motion carried by voice vote.
Staff and the tourism foundation will provide a follow‑up with estimated costs and a phased timeline, and the council asked staff to report back on budget line items to support initial construction.
