Commission begins community and agriculture resilience audit; CARAT spreadsheet work underway

Chair Brown, who volunteered to serve as co-chair for the group, described CARAT as "an online tool called Carat" that the group is using to inventory neighborhood resources including local food supply and distribution. Chair Brown said commission members Sarah Nedrich, Jillian Miller and John Malinach are participating and that staff support comes from Arzela Markoff.
"It's basically doing an inventory of the neighborhood, of the community resources," Chair Brown said, and commissioners agreed that filling the spreadsheet should be manageable because several members have long experience with local resource mapping.
The group intends to complete the initial inventory and then determine next steps; no formal policy or budget decisions were made at the meeting.
