Leadership Clayton Group 3 presented HomeAnchor (also described as Homemaker), a centralized online directory and AI-driven situational tool designed to help residents identify housing resources and stabilization steps, at the Jonesboro City Council meeting on July 13.
Dr. Natasha Hampton and Savon Iris Kumasa said HomeAnchor will not provide direct rental assistance or long-term case management but will act as a "navigator" to existing resources. The presentation cited county figures — including high eviction rates between 2019 and 2023 and thousands of students identified as homeless in recent years — to argue that streamlined access to services could improve outcomes.
Savon Iris Kumasa said the site uses short intake prompts to identify needs and point residents to appropriate resources, and that the group expects to launch the site publicly on Aug. 29. The presenters asked municipalities to consult on the resource list and consider hosting or linking the tool on city websites; they noted a county presentation is scheduled for Aug. 11.
Council members praised the concept and requested copies of the presentation and a one-page infographic describing demographic data and sponsorship packages. Officials discussed possibilities for municipal hosting and long-term sustainability after the Leadership Clayton cohort graduates.
What happens next: Leadership Clayton will share presentation materials and a formal save-the-date for the Aug. 29 launch. Staff and council planners will explore municipal hosting and partnership options ahead of the launch.
