ANTC and 21st Century programs highlighted; students showcased projects and awards

Doctor Martin introduced the Amelia Nottoway Technical Centre (ANTC) showcase. Miss Slutsinski described the two‑year Collision Repair Technology program (students receive ASE collision repair and refinish certifications and the program undergoes accreditation renewal in 2026). Presentations included student projects—body fabrication, painting and a senior signature project displayed at the center.
Superintendent Dr. Grimes and site coordinators updated the board on the 21st Century Community Learning Center grants at several schools. Jennifer Nelson (Crew Primary site coordinator) and other coordinators described grant objectives and outcomes: remediation and SOL boot camps, attendance goals, discipline targets and a summer STEM camp run in partnership with regional providers. Site coordinators reported strong participation growth at some sites and cited examples of hands‑on activities (heliopter demonstration, STEM themes, and CSI/bomb squad demonstrations used in program activities).
Board members congratulated students and staff; student participants were invited to share their experiences and show artwork. The presentations highlighted local workforce pathways and after‑school learning opportunities supported by state and federal grant programs.
