The Planning Board reviewed a signage package for the proposed Newburgh Self‑Storage redevelopment at 1420 Route 300. Justin Dates (Colliers) explained the proposal to replace existing cinema‑island freestanding signs with a Route 300 freestanding sign of about 145.75 square feet (proposed height 30 feet) and a Route 52 freestanding sign of about 91 square feet (proposed height 25 feet). "This sign is 145.75 square feet in size. It's 8'10.10\" by 16'6\" and the proposed height is 30 feet tall on that one," Dates said as he described the Route 300 sign.
Board members and staff noted that the Route 300 sign location and height will require variances for the required setback from the property line and that the off‑site sign on Route 52 will likely need a variance because it sits on an easement. The Planning Board voted unanimously to authorize counsel Dominic Cordisco to prepare and send a referral letter to the Zoning Board of Appeals listing the variance requests.
