"This would be primarily web based survey using SurveyMonkey... the draft survey will be prepared and then reviewed at the next council meeting prior to distribution," staff said.
Council members discussed whether the survey should focus on seniors or take a broader community approach; concerns were raised that the target demographic (older residents) may be less likely to respond to an online-only survey and that in-person stakeholder conversations might better surface ideas and build support. Council discussed grant eligibility timelines and noted initial building funding would be private with possible grant leveraging later.
After discussion on outreach strategy and scope, the council called a roll and each named member present voted 'Aye'; the motion carried to approve Addendum No. 23-1 for $4,800. Staff said the draft survey will return to council for review prior to distribution and that paper copies will be available to increase accessibility.
