The Eastchester Union Free School District Board of Education elected Dr. Jacqueline DeMarco president at its July 14 reorganization meeting, with Christine Lombardi chosen as vice president and Matthew Fanelli confirmed as secretary.
Dr. DeMarco was sworn into office at the meeting. "I, Jacqueline DeMarco, do solemnly swear that I will support the constitution of The United States and the constitution of the state of New York, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of president of the board of education," she said while taking the oath. Fanelli took the oath for secretary shortly afterward.
The board also recognized Elias as the returning student ex officio member and welcomed his reports for the coming year. The officers were chosen by voice vote during the short reorganization portion of the meeting; board members called the votes and the chair declared the nominations carried by voice vote.
The board scheduled a retreat for Aug. 26 and its next regular meeting for Sept. 15.
The meeting adjourned after the swearing-in and routine business concluded.
