Olivette staff: North Price STP application on recommended list; Irvington Place partly occupied

Public works and planning staff told the council that Olivette’s Surface Transportation Program application for reconstructing North Price between Old Bonhom and Delmar is on East‑West Gateway’s recommended-for-approval list and will be considered for funding in the fall. Staff said the project was sized to fall in a funding sweet spot of roughly $1.0 million to $1.5 million to improve chances in the competitive program.
Staff cautioned that being on the recommended list is an important step but not a guarantee of final funding; East‑West Gateway has the final vote on which projects are funded this fall. When asked whether Ameren’s concurrent repair work would affect the application, staff said the application had to be submitted before Ameren’s work and therefore could not be changed now.
Planning staff reported Irvington Place Apartments have opened, with about 40 units currently occupied, and scheduled a grand opening this week. The Pinnacle townhouses were reported to be in final inspection stages for Building 7, with additional buildings to follow.
Parks staff noted recent volunteer plantings on the Cottonwood Trail, that splash pads opened over Memorial Day, and that a split-rail fence was installed at Stacy Park where a chain-link fence had been removed.
