Olivette council and staff recognize Finance Director Darren Mann at final meeting

At the June 9 Olivette City Council meeting members of the council and city staff honored outgoing Finance Director Darren Mann. Speakers highlighted Mann’s role revising the city’s procurement and reserve policies, improving financial reporting (including the annual CAFR and PAFR), leading bond and TIF efforts, and establishing the city’s capital improvement practices.
"You've taken the finances that were in the parts at the time of the great recession in a little bit of a different place than we are today," one council member said. Staff noted that under Mann's leadership Olivette has received multiple GFOA awards. Mann was thanked publicly and residents and councilors wished him well as he prepares to take the finance-director role in Town and Country; Tanya Welch, the city's senior accountant, will serve as interim.
The council observed the recognition with applause; no formal personnel action was taken at the meeting.
