Tamworth fire board agrees to sprucing Central Station, flags missing insulation above rescue office

Members of the Tamworth Board of Firewards agreed at their Feb. 5 meeting to begin small interior maintenance projects at Central Station, starting with painting the hallway floor and some interior walls.
D. Costello and T. Dutile raised the idea of “painting/sprucing up some parts of the Central Station,” and members agreed it was a good place to start. Chairman Jim Bowles noted that snowmelt patterns on the roof suggest missing or displaced insulation above the rescue office and that the issue should be investigated and repaired.
The board also discussed long-term replacement costs for the department’s repeater and asked Ossipee Mountain Electronics to service it; members noted there is no schedule yet for that work. FF E. Ralph said he is obtaining medical control phone numbers for area hospitals, from Huggins and others, to post in the ambulance.
No formal dates or budgets were set for the painting or insulation repairs; the items were recorded for follow-up by department leadership.
