He presented the retreats for ratification and the board approved them.
The board also approved a professional‑service agreement with Marina Valentin to provide professional development and deliver a keynote to the district’s management team for the 2026–27 year. Trustees discussed the value and cost; one trustee interjected, “For $5,000, I hope so,” while others said they expected an engaging, motivating presentation.
The approvals authorize payment of necessary expenses in accordance with board policy and place retreat logistics on the district calendar. Staff said the events are intended to support instructional priorities and operational alignment across sites.
