Trustee Ann Acheson nominated chair of Oxford Community Schools governance committee; committee continues review of leadership code

Trustee Ann Acheson called the Oxford Community Schools Board Governance Committee to order at 9:00 a.m. on Feb. 6, 2026, and trustees approved the minutes of the Jan. 9 meeting by a 2-0 vote.

Trustee Ann Acheson moved to approve the Jan. 9 minutes; Trustee Mike Aldred supported the motion, and the record shows two affirmative votes, after which the motion passed. Later in the meeting, Trustee Mike Aldred moved to nominate Trustee Ann Acheson as chair of the Governance Committee for the 2026 calendar year; Acheson supported the nomination and the motion passed with two affirmative votes.

The committee began a review of feedback on a proposed Board Leadership Code and agreed to continue that discussion at a future meeting, indicating the committee had not finalized changes or adopted the code.

Members also discussed the district’s Community of the Whole format, noting it has not met participation expectations. The committee considered ideas for alternative community engagement opportunities but did not make a formal decision to change the format at this meeting.
