The Oxford Community Schools Board Policy Committee met Feb. 10 and approved its prior meeting minutes, then reviewed several district policies and assigned staff follow-up work.
Amanda McDonough, chairperson, called the meeting to order at 10:09 a.m. and recorded attendance that included Vice President M. Aldred and Trustee S. Gibson (who arrived at 10:25 a.m.). Vice President M. Aldred moved and Trustee S. Gibson supported approval of the Policy Committee minutes (the motion referenced the January 28, 2025 Policy Committee meetings). The committee recorded a 3–0 vote in favor; the motion carried.
In the substantive portion of the meeting the committee listed primary items for further review: Anita was listed as responsible for policy 5409, Graduation Requirements, which the committee sent for a first reading. Pam presented (or was listed as responsible for) a memorandum on transporting students during inclement weather for committee consideration. Dr. Milligan raised the district Title IX policy for review and noted that Jennifer would join the March 13 meeting to participate in that discussion. Allison was assigned to finalize details for policy 4229, Acceptable Use of Artificial Intelligence, including clarifying allowed personal use, and to compare the draft with NEOLA safety policies; Allison is also expected to participate March 13 to complete that review.
Committee members agreed to add routine policy review to future agendas and discussed updates to current administrative guidelines. No scheduled or unscheduled public comments were recorded. The meeting adjourned at 11:39 a.m.; the minutes are signed by Amanda McDonough, Chairperson.
Next steps noted in the meeting record include staff follow-up and participation by additional personnel at the March 13 session to finalize the Title IX and AI policy reviews.
