The Oxford Community Schools Board Governance Committee met Feb. 7 and reviewed notes from its previous Governance Committee meeting, identifying several priorities the committee will continue to work on.
The meeting was called to order at 9:32 a.m. (recorded as “Secretary Sommers called the meeting to order”) and listed James Sommers, Ann Acheson and Sarabeth Campagiorni as present. The committee reviewed items to continue from the prior meeting and agreed to focus on reviewing the purpose of the Governance Committee and updating the Board of Education Operations Manual.
Committee members also discussed a possible proposal to change the structure of upcoming Board of Education meetings and identified learning opportunities for board members. As one specific next step, the committee decided to sign up two staff members—named in the minutes as Shane and Sara Beth—for MASB Superintendent Evaluation Training.
The minutes note that the committee viewed the Governance Committee minutes from Dec. 12, 2024, which had been previously approved. The meeting adjourned at 11:38 a.m. The minutes were signed and dated March 14, 2025, by James Sommers as chairperson.
