Kensington Board approves resident requests, notes telecom proposal and recognizes trustee resignation

At its June 15 meeting the Kensington Board of Selectmen approved three administrative motions moved by Ian O’Reilly and seconded by Tom Balabon: an additional trash cart for 195 Amesbury Rd; a veteran tax credit for the same property; and rental of a 40-foot caution obstacle course for the town’s summer camp. All three motions passed unanimously.
The Board acknowledged the resignation of Kristopher Moody from the Trustees of Trust Funds, thanked him for his service, and indicated that Steve Sniderman will be appointed as the next Trust Fund Chair. The minutes show the Board’s appreciation but record no formal vote on the appointment at this meeting.
The Board also reviewed a proposal to replace Comcast with Bretton Woods Telephone Company for town telecommunications. Initial evaluation indicated the alternative would provide fiber interconnect services to Town Hall, Police, Fire, Grange Hall and Sawyer Park and could reduce costs by more than $1,000 per month while improving reliability. The minutes say other quotes and redundant service options will be evaluated before any decision.
Bills and payroll were signed and the Board adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
