Agency official (speaker 4) introduced community member Randy Whitman and presented a written proposal to refinish and reseal the district's outdoor basketball court and to add removable lines/posts for pickleball. The board discussed materials, school safety rules for products used on school property, and liability measures.
"Randy would like to volunteer his time, expertise, and materials and equipment to refinish and reseal it," Agency official (speaker 4) said, describing plans to restore basketball and four‑square lines and to add removable pickleball posts so the court remains safe for multiple uses.
Board members thanked the volunteer and discussed logistics for storing removable posts, ensuring the product is suitable for school use, and how the project would be coordinated with staff. A motion to accept the volunteer project was made and seconded during the meeting; staff will review specifics and coordinate required approvals and liability coverage.
Separately, Agency official (speaker 4) told the board about a reported probate reading in Great Falls for a James H. Timmerson, who reportedly intends to give assets to the Lincoln community; speaker 4 said one allocation in the draft distribution plan was about 45% to the district with other percentages to the rodeo grounds, food bank and library. The board said it will follow formal procedures to accept any donation and will work with legal and staff to implement restrictions the donor placed on funds.
Next steps: staff will review the volunteer project scope, confirm allowable materials for school facilities, address liability and storage logistics for removable posts, and notify the board when a plan and any required approvals are ready.
