The board also approved a Printer Drive Alley mural with an alien theme by an artist from Raeford, budgeted at $10,000, and a plan to paint roughly seven downtown fire hydrants at $280 each; both measures passed 4-0. Finally, the board approved installing a hanging-wire mini-gallery in Town Hall for under $1,000.
Tyler Douglas, Public Information Officer, said the projects will be funded from tourism revenues and the Town expects to be reimbursed for the arch purchase. The board placed the items as consented actions in the official minutes.
