Oxford Community Schools board approves policies, courses and appointments in routine vote

The Oxford Community Schools Board of Education met Aug. 26 and approved a slate of routine items, including a consent agenda, policy updates, course and catalog approvals, and several board and external-organization appointments.
Board President Amanda McDonough called the meeting to order at 6:34 p.m. After routine attendance was recorded, Trustee S. Gibson moved and Vice President M. Aldred supported approval of a package of policies (2504.01; 3315; 3115 F-1; 3115A; 3118; 3201; 3212; 3301; 3407; 4101; 4103; 4105B; 4105B-F; 4106; 4403; 4407; 4408.01; 4409). The board approved the motion, recorded as “6 Ayes. Motion carried.”
The board approved OVA course offerings on a motion by M. Aldred and support from M. Whitney (6 Ayes), and later approved the District Catalog on a motion by M. Whitney and support from A. Acheson (6 Ayes). The consent agenda was approved on a motion by M. Aldred, supported by M. Whitney (6 Ayes).
On appointments, Treasurer M. Whitney moved and M. Aldred supported appointing Kimberly Young to the LCA Board of Directors; the motion carried with 6 Ayes. The board likewise approved the appointment of Debora Blake to the LCA Board of Directors (6 Ayes). President Amanda McDonough moved and Trustee S. Campagiorni supported appointing A. Acheson and S. Gibson to the Reinstatement Committee; roll-call entries recorded six affirmative votes (S. Campagiorni — Y; M. Whitney — Y; S. Gibson — Y; J. Sommers — [blank]; A. Acheson — Y; M. Aldred — Y; A. McDonough — Y) and the motion carried.
The board set its fall workshop for Sept. 20, 2025, and reviewed upcoming calendar items including Labor Day recess (Aug. 29), Student Count Day (Oct. 1) and the schedule of September/October board meetings.
The meeting adjourned at 8:50 p.m. and minutes were signed by Amanda McDonough, President, and James Sommers, Secretary.
