Hendersonville accepts 2025 Martin Collins Award for community plan

An agency official for the City of Hendersonville said the city accepted the 2025 Martin Collins Award from APA NC for its community plan.
The official said, "On behalf of the City of Hendersonville, we are honored to accept the 2025 Martin Collins Award," and thanked APA NC for recognizing the community's vision. The official added that "this plan reflects the voices of thousands of our community residents" and described it as "a commitment to preserving what makes the City Of Hendersonville special."
A city staff member thanked the plan’s lead, Matt Manley, the community development team and the many city staff volunteers who conducted outreach. The staff member also acknowledged outside partners, naming "Bolton and Bank, Veil and Planning, Green Heron Planning, and Retail Strategies," and said the award recognizes the people behind the plan as well as the plan itself.
City representatives said the plan and the recognition underscore a multi-stakeholder approach to local planning and outreach. The officials noted that the award celebrates both the document and the community process and said they were proud of the work that will shape Hendersonville’s future.
