At its Feb. 24 meeting the Benson Board of Commissioners approved several advisory-board appointments and accepted routine financial reports.
The board approved Jamie King to the Art Board; Gregory Wood as a resident member of the Planning Board; and Andy Hughes and Anthony Mozingo to the Parks & Recreation Board. Commissioner Will Chandler moved to approve the appointments; the motion passed 5-0.
Under the financial reports, Town Manager Kimberly Pickett told the board that year‑to‑date revenues were at 53% of budget and expenditures at 50%, yielding an approximately $444,000 positive variance in the budget. The approval of the consent agenda bundled several items, including the Jan. 14 work session minutes, Jan. 23 regular meeting minutes, and an extension of Contract #2 for Jacob Parente; the minutes do not include further detail about the length or terms of that contract extension.
The board’s votes on appointments and the consent agenda were unanimous, 5-0.
