Jay Murray, the Town's Project Manager, reported on Jan. 14 that two bids were received for the general-contractor work on the town's L-shaped building project after an extension; one bidder later withdrew and the remaining general-contractor bid came from ACH Construction Company for $699,500. Murray said the lowest HVAC bid was $155,016.64 from J&M Building Services; his in-house estimate for HVAC had been $256,000.
Murray said he will issue a change order to J&M to include duct cleaning once the contract is completed. The Board heard the bid results and did not take immediate contract-award action during the work session; staff will prepare the contract paperwork and recommended change orders for the next meeting or consent agenda as needed.
The update gives the Board cost figures to review ahead of any contract award and indicates staff anticipate reconciling the bids with project estimates before returning for formal approval.
