The Montrose County Board of County Commissioners voted to extend its 2025 local disaster declaration and amended the motion to place resolution number 38‑2025 in the record. The chair said the extension was necessary "to stay current and be eligible for funding." The board approved the amendment and the motion carried.
Separately, the board ratified a previously approved multi‑county letter of support for the Shoshone Water Rights Preservation Project, joining many other counties in support of the project's funding request. The chair said the letter had been posted online and the board voted to approve joining the multi‑county support.
Those procedural votes were conducted in open session. Afterward the board moved into and returned from a closed executive session to receive legal advice about the interim manager contract; the extension of the emergency declaration and the ratification of the support letter were recorded as board actions prior to the executive session.
The meeting closed with the chair apologizing for declining unscheduled public testimony that was not on the agenda, and the board adjourned at 11:05 a.m.
