Board renames former Pasquotank Elementary as Pasquotank Learning Campus

The Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools Board of Education voted on June 25 to rename the former Pasquotank Elementary School facility the Pasquotank Learning Campus.
Dr. Parker and the facility naming committee explained the building is transitioning to a multiuse site housing a micro school, a pre-K program, a community schools resource center, office space and other programs. Committee chair Dr. Williams and the naming committee solicited staff and family feedback; survey respondents favored "Pasquotank Learning Campus," and the committee recommended that option.
"The community has a part in that," a committee member said, characterizing the process as community-driven. Chair Cobb moved to accept the committee recommendation and the board approved the renaming. Dr. Parker said renovations of the pre-K wing are on track for a July 15 completion, and the district will install new exterior and wayfinding signage to reflect the campus name before the school year begins.
The decision applies to the facility (the brick-and-mortar site); program names within the campus will remain distinct.
