School solar project: Staff screened a short video about Saint Germain Elementary’s solar installation, noting the district captured a significant incentive under the Inflation Reduction Act and that donors covered additional project costs. Staff said the installation should lower the school’s energy bills over time and provide an example for other districts and local churches considering similar work.
Safety and facilities: Deputies and SROs summarized end-of-year work, county coordination on safety planning and an updated safety-camera naming/mapping system that better aligns district cameras with the county 911 call center. Staff also outlined parking-lot resurfacing and a scheduled chip-seal operation and reminded the board of an upcoming community recycling event to be hosted at the district parking lot.
State budget context: Administrators reviewed the uncertain state budget process and possible implications for special-education funding and revenue limits; they advised planning from baseline assumptions until the legislature finalizes allocations.
