Mount Kisco commission approves three-month trial for social worker at Fox Senior Center; requests joint meeting with Leonard Park Committee

Chair Christine Dennett presented a proposal to the commission to pilot a social-worker position at the Fox Senior Center for three months. Dennett said the social worker would meet seniors by appointment and provide information and referrals for services and supports. Commissioners discussed the trial’s limited scope and the range of services the social worker could provide.
A motion to proceed with the three-month trial was moved by Christine Dennett, seconded by Christy McGinn and recorded in the minutes as carried (all in favor). The minutes do not include a roll-call tally of votes.
In open discussion, Commissioner Linda Cindrich requested a joint meeting with the Leonard Park Committee to review Leonard Park’s rules and regulations and asked that the Village attorney attend. Commissioner Kim Lapple raised the possibility of installing banners or signs at the renamed Cindrich Field and noted the Village Building Inspector, Peter Miley, is leaving at the end of April; no replacement was recorded in the minutes.
The meeting closed with well-wishes for commissioner Bob Byrns’ recovery and a motion to adjourn.
