A representative of the Wright County Sheriff's Office told the City of Montrose council on July 13 that deputies handled 228 calls for service during the reporting period, including 102 cases, seven probable‑cause arrests and 20 citations.
"We might have to talk about getting a second car down here. It's been pretty busy," the deputy said, adding that calls have been steady and that the office would watch for complaints. Council members described incident reports from neighborhoods and asked whether deputies had heard about a vehicle that has been revving and burning out tires on County Road 12 near 9–10 p.m.; the deputy said he had not heard about that specific vehicle but would keep an eye out and contact residents if seen.
The deputy clarified that the seven probable‑cause arrests reflected a mix of offenses, including suspected DUI, drug and domestic cases, and said there had been no significant vandalism reported in Montrose during the period.
The Sheriff's Office will continue routine patrols and follow up on resident complaints.
