Washington County Fair Board approves financial report; meeting adjourns

At the May 6 meeting the Washington County Fair Board reviewed and approved the year-to-date financial report through March. Staff told the board there had been little financial activity as the fiscal year winds down, that a FAIR software renewal and a security payment had appeared in recent charges, and that transient lodging tax (TLT) is trending about 12% down; staff said the budget was conservative and they expected to come close to target.
Staff also reminded the board of a state funding increase (from $53,166 to $79,782) this year and said that further increases are expected in fiscal 2027, reducing dependency on TLT. A board member moved to approve the financials; the motion received a second and passed by voice vote.
The board also recorded routine announcements (joint meeting with the Board of County Commissioners on May 26 at 1 p.m.; next regular meeting July 1) and then approved a motion to adjourn.
