The Board approved a high‑school building envelope restoration project to address persistent leaking and condensation at multiple window and wall locations.
Facilities staff presented the finding that water infiltration and persistent drip spots occur at the main commons entrance, the rear commons, gym walls and a northwest corner of the high school. Contractors (including Garland and Masonry Restoration Incorporated) inspected the building and proposed targeted remediation—removing and replacing sealants, grinding and repointing where needed, and resealing joints around windows and walls. Staff recommended approving work on the specific problem areas identified rather than a full‑building restoration at this time.
The work is budgeted from the district’s maintenance project funds and some items align with prior referendum roofing work. Board members asked for clarification about budget sources and staff confirmed the project falls within the annual maintenance budget and referenced previously budgeted referendum funds that covered roofing work.
A motion to approve the restoration project was moved, seconded and carried by roll call. Staff will proceed to contract with the selected vendor and schedule the work.
