The Ocean Pines Association completed ceremonial and appointment business at its March meeting, including swearing in a new police officer, presenting Good Neighbor awards and appointing a new member to the Elections Committee.
During the swearing-in ceremony the oath recited the name Charles Lowery as the officer being sworn in. The board then presented monthly Good Neighbor awards and said certificates would be provided to recipients who were absent.
On appointments, the board moved to appoint Rob Kesseling to a first term on the Elections Committee. Board member Stuart commented that Kesseling had chaired the strategic planning committee and was well qualified; the motion passed by voice vote and the board welcomed Kesseling to the committee.
Public comment earlier in the meeting included a presentation by a resident who identified himself as an ISO-certified professional, who praised the Southside firehouse and said he would submit a written report to the association.
