Pasco County commission approves proclamations and consent-agenda projects; several items pulled for discussion

The Pasco County Commission on July 14 approved several ceremonial resolutions and the bulk of its consent agenda, while pulling a handful of items for discussion.
The board adopted a resolution recognizing Jesse Bednaric for 20 years of service in the county’s Facilities Management Department and heard remarks from colleagues and the retiree. Commissioners also approved Resolution 26276 declaring pretrial, probation and parole supervision week to recognize misdemeanor probation staff; and Resolution 26277 declaring July 2026 Park and Recreation Month in Pasco County. The board commended Florida Sports Coast for achieving Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP) certification.
On the consent agenda, commissioners approved multiple routine items and projects by voice vote. Commissioner Starkey pulled C29 to highlight a proposed Blueberry Drive land purchase that would connect local roads and ease routes to nearby schools; staff described the acquisition as supporting network connectivity. Sidewalk projects (C48 and C50) to improve safe routes to schools and other pedestrian improvements were approved; C69 was pulled and a hearing time was revised. Two items (C27 and C72) were withdrawn from the agenda.
