The board settled on a 180-day extension and requested courtesy updates at roughly 90 days so staff and the board could monitor progress.
Several residents who had previously opposed the project asked that the board deny further delays, saying the applicant had already had multiple extensions. Board members discussed the trade-off between requiring a restart of the application (which could force the applicant to re-initiate interconnection discussions with RG&E) and the cost and time savings of allowing more time for the applicant to procure compliant components.
The board voted to approve the 180-day extension and asked staff to request an interim update from the applicant about RG&E engagement halfway through the extension period.
