Eastham to start police-department HVAC upgrade using $250,000 Green Communities funds; installation expected this fall

Town staff reported the town has an awarded Green Communities grant of $250,000 to upgrade the police department’s HVAC system, and that RISE Engineering has provided a quote. Shana Brogan said the town is awaiting incentive amounts from the Cape Light Compact that will reduce the net cost before contracting.
Brogan told the committee the project is planned for autumn and that installation will likely take "about six weeks to a couple of months" because of supply-chain lead times. The town has had a preliminary logistics meeting with RISE Engineering, the DPW and Cape Light Compact and will proceed to finalize utility incentives before scheduling a contractor start date.
Members asked whether the project could be coordinated with other municipal electrification efforts to preserve later compatibility with distributed-energy options; staff said design and interconnection questions will be addressed during the engineering phase.
