The Borough of Old Tappan’s mayor and council adopted Ordinance 12‑60‑24 on June 17 on second and final reading, amending the borough salary ordinance to add a part‑time finance clerk and to restructure certain part‑time tax‑collector and clerical roles.
Councilman Gwan opened the public hearing and said the ordinance updates staffing levels by adding a part‑time finance clerk and adjusting the part‑time tax collector position. After the council invited public comment and heard none, the council adopted the ordinance by roll call and directed the borough clerk to publish the notice of adoption as required by law.
The action came during the meeting’s consent and legislative business and will be reflected in payroll and staffing schedules going forward. The ordinance had been introduced previously and was presented for a final determination at the meeting.
