A commissioner said there was a "huge open hole" where contractors had been excavating at the old Netlox location and expressed worry about the site’s proximity to a nearby school and the visibility of barricades. Staff said the Baptist Church owns the old Netlox parcel and that staff would monitor the excavation and consider whether additional nighttime fencing or barriers were warranted.
Staff also updated the commission on the Kentus project, saying the team was completing engineering deliverables, pursuing a replat/resurvey and continuing negotiations; staff noted a food truck vendor is expected to return to the site this summer. On the 2nd Street project, staff described an open house with full‑street layouts available for property owners and said construction timing has shifted but is tentatively planned for next spring or summer.
