Morrison said the proposed budget — which includes funding for the Board of Education, the board of selectants, the library and debt service — represents a 1.22% increase, an amount he cited as $574,854. He said the mill rate has been set at 25.35 mills but still must be approved by taxpayers at the referendum.
"If you go to the website, on the town website, you can look at budget information," Morrison said, urging residents to review materials online. He added he is available to answer questions and will seek answers he does not have immediately.
The selectant did not provide a detailed line-item total in an unambiguous form during his remarks; he directed listeners to the town website for full budget documents. No votes or motions on the budget were recorded during the remarks. The referendum date and polling hours announced by the selectant are the next scheduled procedural steps.
