Grand Forks proclaims support for postal workers; APWU representatives outline local role

Kayla Gorno, introduced at the meeting as "My name is Kayla Gorno. I'm the president of the APWU," thanked the council and described the union’s mission. APWU member Melissa Greer told councilors the postal service has provided nationwide service for more than two centuries and summarized how local processing plants and post offices keep mail flowing.
The mayor thanked the postal workers and acknowledged the local post office’s role in passport services and other community functions. The proclamation asked citizens to support the objectives of Grand Forks postal workers and voiced opposition to efforts to privatize the Postal Service.
