Elk & North East Rivers Watershed Association asks to occupy space in Old Town Lock Up

Dobbins thanked the mayor and commissioners for past support and said the space would be used to store event materials and water samples, serve as a headquarters for volunteers, and host board meetings and other events. "I see this historic building as a shared space for not only ENERWA, other occupancy, and the public," he said, using the phrase reported in the meeting record.
Mayor Kelly RyB Benson asked questions about the details of occupancy and what the town administration would be comfortable offering. Dobbins said the decision would be up to the town board and administration and reiterated his interest in a shared-use approach that would also leave room for historic displays about the town.
No formal motion or vote was taken on the request at the Nov. 12 meeting. Assistant Town Administrator Grant Handley later noted that the Old Town Hall Lock Up is slated for completion by Thanksgiving 2025 and suggested a possible board tour on Dec. 3 to view the space.
The board did not place the request on the agenda for formal action at this meeting; follow-up would require staff recommendations and a future vote if the board chooses to allocate space.
