Commissioner Randy Sparacino, Vice-Chair of the Jackson County Board of Commissioners, opened the staff meeting on June 25, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in the Jackson Room and by audio/videoconference. The meeting record lists Commissioner Colleen Roberts, County Administrator Danny Jordan, County Counsel Joel Benton, Recording Secretary Kacie Kinney, Executive Assistant Jen Kelly, and members of the public and press; Commissioner Rick Dyer was absent.
County Administrator Danny Jordan reviewed the agenda for the Board’s regular meeting scheduled for July 1, 2026 (Submission No. 1) and reported there were no changes. County Counsel Joel Benton said he had nothing to report to the staff meeting.
Commissioner Colleen Roberts gave liaison reports, saying she attended the Jackson County Fair Board meeting and the Emerging Leaders event, participated in the National Association of Counties Rural Action Caucus meeting and the Association of Oregon and California Counties Board of Directors meeting, discussed Jackson County committees with Colleen Aldrich, and noted a recent interview of the Oregon State Fire Marshal about fire policies. Commissioner Randy Sparacino reported he attended meetings of the Rogue Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Middle Rogue Metropolitan Planning Organization.
Administrator Jordan also provided an update on the Public Safety Coordinating Council meeting and clarified information regarding county burn permits. The board reviewed calendars with no changes and noted there was nothing for executive session.
There were no motions, votes, or formal actions recorded in the staff meeting minutes. Commissioner Sparacino adjourned the meeting at 9:32 a.m. The minutes show signature lines for Chair Rick Dyer, Commissioner Randy Sparacino, Commissioner Colleen Roberts, and Recorder Kacie Kinney; the minutes were approved on July 15, 2026.
