Fall River board approves multiple one-day liquor permits and business licenses

The Fall River City board approved several event permits and business licenses on July 15, including a one-day liquor permit for the Fall River Library Foundation, permits for the Liberal Club and Bernardo Boxing Club, and a large community concert proposed by BayCoast Bank for the City Pier.
Library director Felicia Desvaris told the board the library’s donor social would serve “beer and wine” to about 75 guests and that event organizers had met logistics requirements. The board approved the permit after a motion from a board member.
Rebecca Rocha, representing BayCoast Bank, said the planned City Pier concert on Aug. 8 had an estimated attendance cap “up to 2,000” and a rain date of Aug. 9; the board approved the permit subject to finalized logistics, including a police detail and two to three medics as required by the city’s logistics meeting.
Other approvals included Class 2 wholesale and retail licenses: AutoX Group Corp. received approval for a Class 2 wholesale operation (no cars on the lot), Family Car Auto Sales was granted a Class 2 license with conditions on hours and vehicle capacity, and Miss Lizzie’s Coffee and Napoli Pizza received common victualler licenses for new or relocated restaurant operations.
Board members repeatedly emphasized that approvals for outdoor or high-attendance events were contingent on satisfactory logistics reviews by police, fire and emergency services. Chair Gregory Brant read the city’s open-meetings and public-comment rules at the start of the session and noted that most event approvals included standard conditions requiring compliance with those logistics meetings.
The board approved the June 2026 minutes and adjourned the meeting later in the evening.
